Science & Research
A polyherbal anti-inflammatory formulation engineered to address multiple inflammatory cascades simultaneously. Boswellia serrata delivers AKBA (3-O-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid), a selective 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitor that reduces leukotriene synthesis without gastropathic effects associated with conventional NSAIDs. Commiphora mukul (Guggulu) provides guggulsterones that modulate NF-κB signaling and COX-2 expression. Withania somnifera contributes withanolides with demonstrated chondroprotective activity and HPA-axis modulation, addressing the stress-inflammation nexus in chronic joint conditions. Zingiber officinale inhibits prostaglandin and thromboxane synthesis via dual COX/LOX inhibition.
Clinical Key Functions
- Dual COX/LOX inhibition from ginger-derived gingerols and shogaols*
- Adaptogenic stress modulation addressing cortisol-driven inflammatory amplification*
- Antioxidant defense against reactive oxygen species in synovial tissue*

Ayurvedic Philosophy
In Ayurvedic pathology, joint disorders arise primarily from Vata Prakopa (Vata aggravation) localizing in Sandhi (joints), producing Sandhivata — characterized by Shotha (swelling), Vedana (pain), and Sandhisphutana (crepitus). The treatment principle follows Vata-shamana (Vata pacification) combined with Shothaghna (anti-inflammatory) and Vedanasthapana (analgesic) therapies. Boswellia (Shallaki) is classified among the Vedanasthapana Mahakashaya in the Charaka Samhita's 50 therapeutic groupings, while Guggulu provides Lekhana (scraping) action to clear Ama (metabolic toxins) deposited in joint spaces. Ashwagandha's Balya (strengthening) and Rasayana (rejuvenative) properties address the underlying Dhatu Kshaya (tissue depletion) that predisposes joints to degeneration.
