Science & Research
Ayurveda's most fundamental and versatile compound, combining three myrobalans in precise ratio. Research at UC Davis documented significant prebiotic activity, promoting Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus colonization while reducing pathogenic Enterobacteriaceae. Gallic acid, ellagic acid, and chebulagic acid provide broad-spectrum antioxidant capacity through radical scavenging and metal chelation. Haritaki's chebulinic acid supports colonic motility through prokinetic action without purgative dependence. Amalaki provides stable, heat-resistant vitamin C (bioavailable due to tannin-complexation), contributing to mucosal antioxidant defense. Bibhitaki's β-sitosterol demonstrates mucosal protectant activity. This tridoshic formulation is suitable for all constitutional types as a foundational daily supplement.
Clinical Key Functions
- Stable bioavailable vitamin C delivery via tannin-complexation*
- Intestinal mucosal barrier integrity restoration*
- Tridoshic constitutional balancing suitable for all prakruti types*

Ayurvedic Philosophy
Triphala is the most universally prescribed formulation in all of Ayurveda — its importance cannot be overstated. The Charaka Samhita declares that Triphala taken daily with honey and ghee constitutes the most effective Rasayana for longevity. Its Tridoshic (tri-doshic balancing) nature is extraordinarily rare — Amalaki addresses Pitta through its Amla Rasa and Sheeta Virya, Bibhitaki addresses Kapha through its Kashaya Rasa and Ruksha Guna, and Haritaki addresses Vata through its Ushna Virya and Anulomana action. The synergy of all Pancharasa (five tastes) in a single formula provides Sarva-Roga-Prashamana (universal disease-alleviating) potential. Classical texts also classify Triphala as Chakshushya (vision-promoting), reflecting the Ayurvedic connection between Alochaka Pitta (ocular sub-dosha) and digestive function.
